The history of tea leaf in the world

Tea originated in ancient China around 2737 BCE, when Emperor Shen Nong accidentally discovered tea leaves falling into boiling water. Initially used for medicinal purposes, tea gradually became a daily beverage. During the Tang Dynasty (618–907 CE), tea culture flourished and spread to Japan through Buddhist monks. By the 16th century, European traders introduced tea to the West, particularly in Britain, where it became a national obsession. Over time, tea cultivation spread to India and Sri Lanka, driven by colonial interests. Today, tea is one of the most popular drinks worldwide, with countless varieties and cultural traditions surrounding it.
